BREAKING – EXCLUSIVE: NY Paper Publishes Legal Gun Permit Holders Names in Print & Online!

jn-gun-owner-storyDecember 23rd 2012 a New York Newspaper Printed the names and addresses of every Licensed Pistol Permit holder in two Counties and another County is being posted shortly! This is a massive privacy breach and the latest in a series of over the top emotional reactions to the latest shooting tragedy in Sandy Hook CT meant to intimidate the lawful and  prey on peoples fears to exploit the gun grabbing agenda.

In an article title “The gun owner next door: What you don’t know about the weapons in your neighborhood” the paper linked to an interactive map titled: “Map: Where are the gun permits in your neighborhood?” where you can search neighborhoods to see who received a legal permit to own a hand gun license listed by name and address.

Some Immediate Reaction to this invasion of privacy:

“The gun -owner has an added responsibility to take all measures that their firearms do not fall into the  hands of such miscreants. Beside the natural precautions, they cannot permit themselves to fall hostage in trade    for access to their firearms locks.”

” If the homeowner is killed or injured, will LOHUD be charged as an accomplice to the crime?”

“It is as if they put out an ad to jewel thieves listing the names and addresses of where to find diamonds and cash.”

“This is CRAZY!! why in the world would you post every licensed gun owner information?? What do you hope to accomplish by doing this? This is the type of thing you do for sex offenders not law abiding gun owners. What next? should I hang a flag outside my house that says I own a gun?”

“Now everyone knows where the LEGAL GUNS are kept, a valuable piece of information for criminals. Why don’t you do something helpful, like trying to find out where the ILLEGAL GUNS are kept? That would be helpful to the non-criminal population”

Threats from local Government:

The New York Times Reported last week  that Governor Cuomo of New York said:

“Confiscation could be an option. Mandatory sale to the state could be an option. Permitting could be an option — keep your gun but permit it,”

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg had this to say about banning rifles:

“The president, through his leadership, could get a Bill like that (banning assault weapons) through Congress… That’s his job,” Bloomberg said.

This is a invasion of privacy that does nothing to safeguard the law abiding from the criminal element.   One barking dog can herd a thousand sheep to be sheared.   This appears to be an attempt to abrogate the Bill of Rights.   If Paul Revere had the internet, he would not have needed a horse.  Please share this with all of your fellow Americans who are alarmed by a government encroachment, aided and abetted by propagandist masquerading as objective journalist.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!  If you are appalled and alarmed at this abuse of power:

The best response to the gun grabbing agenda driven  is for Americans nation-wide to purchase a firearm today!

I am calling on all Americans,   Constitutionalists,  Tea Party Patriots and 2nd Amendment Activists, to make their voices heard in NY and around the country immediately.    The New York City Council just published a report recommending blatant infringements and restraints on the Bill of Rights!!

Contact the Editors at LOHUD.COM  and cancel your subscription and let their advertisers know how you feel about it.   This is the power of the 1st Amendment in your hands that empowers you to preserve the safeguard afforded us by the 2nd Amendment to the Bill of Rights.

Responsible juneralism would have never published this information…and a responsible city government would nave made sure it was not leaked….even if it is a public record…just saying…now many people will be targeted for their guns…and some will die trying to take them and some will die trying to defend their ownership. actually the opposite is true, you have now given a roadmap to the criminals stalking a home … all they need to do is pull up, check the address for gun ownership, and voila

I feel that the posting could also have a backlash against the gunowners as well.Such as which houses have the guns that the criminal wants. What are these gunowners going to do with their guns while they are at work or even on vacation? You can’t always take your guns with you.The same could be said about other possesions you own as well.Such as jewelry, money and t.v.s. I just wonder if the The Journal News is going to take responsibility as wel,l for any actions that may have been caused by posting the article.Such as a burgalry going bad at not just the non gunowners homes but also the gunowners homes.

This is why Registration is a bad thing. The news paper just announced where criminals can find gun when the owner of the house is not home. They make you registar cars so they can claim it as a privlege and take it away at will. If the news papers can track gun owners then the registration needs to be stopped. They just made gun owners targets for assassination. First we have a texas politition calling for the killing of gun owners on twitter, and one week later we have a news paper printing where their houses are. Talk about a major breach of privacy.

    1. John D
      John D December 25, 2012 at 5:43 pm .

Yes – registration is good on the front end, bad on the back end. If government decides to turn on its people through martial law, then they know where to get the guns. The use of this in the original “Red Dawn” also rings true, where an invading military can seize the records of the overthrown municipal office and find the citizens that are armed – to make sure they aren’t a “problem”. A little imagination also says that if the guns aren’t there, then all they have to do is track the family “records” on file to get leverage against those with the guns.

So the newspaper has essentially painted a target on every non-gun-owning household, which says, “Come Rob Us, My family and I do not own a gun.” “We live in a gun-free zone.”

This is not public record, it is actually private since the applications and approvals contain personal information such as date of birth, social security numbers, etc. This is a privacy breach and I hope every person on this list and in he upcoming list, sue this New York newspaper for breaching their privacy and possibly putting their lives in danger. There is a reason it is called “CONCEALED”, dumb asses, so people do not know that you are carrying a gun or not. Listing the names of people who have a gun permit puts these license holders’ lives in danger, because if someone decides to break in their house, the criminal will know to expect that the person has a gun, thus putting their lives in danger.

It’s obvious that both the State of New York, not to mention the New York Times have now placed themselves in a major liability problem. That Permit information is privileged & subject to the Privacy Act. In releasing that information both the New York Times & the State of New York have violated the Law. So much for “Obeying The Law.” Just like David Gregory violated Federal Law by bringing a M-16 20-round magazine into Washington D.C. & showing it on “Meet The Press” last Sunday. “On The Air.”

Never in my lifetime did I think I’d see something like this happen in America. How many service men and women have fought for our freedom, and how many have paid the ultimate price with their very lives, just to see us throw it away? It is NOT acceptable journalism to publish private names and addresses of firearm owners. These are respectable citizens who have passed extensive security screening in order to have the right to own firearms for self-protection. This is wonderful information for criminals by the way…both for where to find guns (who not to attack when someone is home, where to break in if it looks vacant) but also for potential easy marks (no registered guns). But to just hand over our rights and expect big brother government to take care of us? Yeah, that’s worked out really well for other peoples and countries, hasn’t it? We were a great nation. But we’re allowing it to be taken away. Welcome to the new America. I hope we survive it.

The point is really moot. The newspaper is irresponsible and ineffective. In NYS one only registers handguns, not rifles and shotguns. The only thing people can see is who owns handguns. The list does not report who owns shotguns, which are far more effective against home invasion. That is the problem with the whole gun debate, non-gunners know very little about guns or about gun laws, so they are easy to manipulated by irresponsible news reporters and politicians. When people actually learn the facts, they stop being anti-gunners.

This is not from a legitimate news organization but a political activist group under the guise of a news service. These permits are not public access information but contain personal, private information provided to the government. I personally don’t care if you know I have a gun permit but now in an attempt to push a misguided gun control agenda they have endangered the lives of people who don’t have gun permits by showing the criminal his best options for success with no danger to himself. I see huge opportunities for massive lawsuits and a chance to close down a destructive, oppressive socialistic activist group. Sue hell out of em.

This is a blaintant violation of privacy rules.
The New York Times has proven once again that it is not the great paper of past. This practice of yellow Jurnalism will back fire. Not only on His Majesty Bloomberg, but send ripples through the country. I’m sure that there thoses who think that this just saved lives. Be rest assured the only thing it has saved is time for the criminal.

The question on your mind is how was this information gotten? This is like a drivers licence as far as security. The only people that have this info is NICS and that is only for 6 months, the police they have this info only when your DL is typed in to the system, it’s for their safety, and the Feds.

Was it hacked? Was it paid for? I challenge the local government and the state to investigate.
This is the begining of a storm that we as Americans need to quell before it gets to the point of a huricane.

These gun owners now have no choice but to remain constantly armed and prepared. A sad development for those that simply acquired permits for collections and sport. What idiots. The mainstream media and Washington are fueling the fires for a civil war. Think of the unintended consequences… when criminals use this data to begin targeting “low gun density areas”, then the people living in those areas will begin buying firearms, and so-forth and so on. The backlash in new gun sales is 180 degrees from the original intention.

  66. [...] December 23rd 2012 a New York Newspaper Printed the names and addresses of every Licensed Pistol Permit holder in two Countiesand another County is being posted shortly! This is a massive privacy breach and the latest in a series of over the top emotional reactions to the latest shooting tragedy in Sandy Hook CT meant to intimidate the lawful and prey on peoples fears to exploit the gun grabbing agenda. In an article title “The gun owner next door: What you don’t know about the weapons in your neighborhood” the paper linked to an interactive map titled: “Map: Where are the gun permits in your neighborhood?” where you can search neighborhoods to see who received a legal permit to own a hand gun license listed by name and address.Threats from local Government:The New York Times Reported last week that Governor Cuomo of New York said: “Confiscation could be an option. Mandatory sale to the state could be an option. Permitting could be an option — keep your gun but permit it,”New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg had this to say about banning rifles: “The president, through his leadership, could get a Bill like that (banning assault weapons) through Congress… That’s his job,” Bloomberg said. This is a invasion of privacy that does nothing to safeguard the law abiding from the criminal element. One barking dog can herd a thousand sheep to be sheared. This appears to be an attempt to abrogate the Bill of Rights. If Paul Revere had the internet, he would not have needed a horse. Please share this with all of your fellow Americans who are alarmed by a government encroachment, aided and abetted by propagandist masquerading as objective journalist.ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! If you are appalled and alarmed at this abuse of power:The best response to the gun grabbing agenda driven is for Americans nation-wide to purchase a firearm today!I am calling on all Americans, Constitutionalists, Tea Party Patriots and 2nd Amendment Activists, to make their voices heard in NY and around the country immediately. This is intimidation, at its best.

Not only does it ring of a ‘big brother’ quality watchlist, but it advertises to criminals which homes can be robbed should they want to steal a firearm for use in OTHER crimes. Wait until the owner leaves, break in and BAM, now the bad guy has the gun and the home owner loses his property. Two birds, one stone. Guns stay scary, criminal things, and law abiding citizens are disarmed. GENIUS!

      Genocide Advocated by the Talmud

Minor Tractates. Soferim 15, Rule 10. This is the saying of Rabbi Simon
ben Yohai: Tob shebe goyyim harog (“Even the best of the gentiles
      should all be killed”).

This passage is from the original Hebrew of the Babylonian Talmud as
quoted by the 1907 Jewish Encyclopedia, published by Funk and Wagnalls
and compiled by Isidore Singer, under the entry, “Gentile,” (p.
      617).

This original Talmud passage has been concealed in translation. The Jewish
Encyclopedia states that, “…in the various versions the reading
has been altered, ‘The best among the Egyptians’ being generally substituted.”
In the Soncino version: “the best of the heathens” (Minor Tractates,
      Soferim 41a-b].

Israelis annually take part in a national pilgrimage to the grave of
Simon ben Yohai, to honor this rabbi who advocated the extermination of
      non-Jews. (Jewish Press, June 9, 1989, p. 56B).

On Purim, Feb. 25, 1994, Israeli army officer Baruch Goldstein, an orthodox
Jew from Brooklyn, massacred 40 Palestinian civilians, including children,
while they knelt in prayer in a mosque. Goldstein was a disciple of the
late Brooklyn Rabbi Meir Kahane, who told CBS News that his teaching that
Arabs are “dogs” is derived “from the Talmud.” (CBS
      60 Minutes, “Kahane”).

University of Jerusalem Prof. Ehud Sprinzak described Kahane and Goldstein’s
philosophy: “They believe it’s God’s will that they commit violence
against goyim, a Hebrew term for non-Jews.” (NY Daily News,
      Feb. 26, 1994, p. 5).

Rabbi Yitzhak Ginsburg declared, “We have to recognize that Jewish
blood and the blood of a goy are not the same thing.” (NY
      Times, June 6, 1989, p.5).

Rabbi Yaacov Perrin said, “One million Arabs are not worth a Jewish
fingernail.” (NY Daily News, Feb. 28, 1994, p.6).

United States v. Graham, 11-0094, LEXIS 26954 (D. Md. Mar. 1, 2012), was a Maryland District Court case in which the Court held that historical cell site location data is not protected by the Fourth Amendment. Reacting to precedent established by the recent Supreme Court case United States v. Antoine Jones in conjunction with the application of the third party doctrine, Judge Richard D. Bennett,
found that “information voluntarily disclosed to a third party ceases
to enjoy Fourth Amendment protection” because that information no longer
belongs to the consumer, but rather to the telecommunications company
    that handles the transmissions records.[1]
The historical cell site location data is then not subject to the
privacy protections afforded by the Fourth Amendment standard of probable cause, but rather to the Stored Communications Act, which governs the voluntary or compelled disclosure of stored electronic communications records.

Are Historical Cell-Site Data Protected Under the Fourth Amendment After United States v. Jones?

    Orin Kerr • March 4, 2012 4:33 pm

No, concludes Judge Bennett in United States v. Graham (District of Maryland, March 1, 2012). Judge Bennett concludes that historical cell-site records are not protected because they fall under the third-party doctrine:

Like the bank records at issue in [United States v.]
Miller, the historical cell site location records in this case are not
the ‘private papers’ of the Defendants—instead, they are the ‘business
records’ of the cellular providers. Federal law does not mandate that
cellular providers create or maintain this type of data,11 and even
courts that have concluded that government acquisition of cumulative
cell site location records can violate the Fourth Amendment generally
acknowledge that these records are ‘generated in the ordinary course of
the provider‘s business.’ In re Application of the United States, 747 F.
    Supp. 2d 827, 841 (S.D. Tex. 2010) (Smith, Mag. J.), appeal docketed,
No. 11-20554 (5th Cir. Dec. 14, 2011). Moreover, insofar as historical
cell site records are created and maintained by the cellular providers,
individual customers do not generally have access to those records, and
could not be expected to produce them in response to a subpoena. Under
the reasoning of Miller, therefore, historical cell site location
records are the provider‘s business records, and are not protected by
    the Fourth Amendment.

Based on clear Supreme Court and Fourth Circuit precedent, this Court
finds the third-party doctrine applicable to historical cell site
location information. Like the bank records at issue in Miller, the
telephone numbers dialed in Smith, and the subscriber information
collected in Bynum, historical cell site location records are records
created and kept by third parties that are voluntarily conveyed to those
third parties by their customers. As part of the ordinary course of
business, cellular phone companies collect information that identifies
the cellular towers through which a person‘s calls are routed.

While there is no doubt that this was meant to be intimidation for the gun owners, but think about it… Who is more likely NOT to get mugged or robbed. YEP! That’s right! All the gun owners.

NOW… Take a guess at all who have just been made easy targets… YEP! That’s right!! All those whose names weren’t published.

NOW… who do you think should be more pissed off: Gun Owners or NON-Gun Owners??

At least before criminals wanting to perpetrate a crime had a 50/50 chance that you might be a gun owner and they could get shot… Now, thanks to the newpapers, they have just made targets for all those who don’t own a gun.

Think about this with me… Why did the “gunmen” choose schools??? Because they knew they were “GUN FREE ZONES” The newspaper just let everyone know where all the “GUN FREE ZONES” are by virtue of NOT listing them in the newpaper.

Public record is public record. If I buy a home, everyone knows where I live. When I licence my dogs, everyone knows I own them. Should I ever choose to own a gun, I would expect that would be public as well. ANYTHING that can affect public interests or safety has the right to be public knowledge. I am deeply saddened that this post will not get me invited to your “tea party” but the simple fact remains that your right to bear arms was not violated. Just order a home security system and keep your guns in a safe.

The robbers and rapists now know what homes and families to avoid.

The change in shooting statistics will be interesting. I’ll bet 6 months from now it will be close to 95% of the armed attacks will be against unarmed and unprotected citizens and their homes.

Their plan to hurt gun owners will backfire on them when the statistics are finally seen.
